I received a post on my facebook page from this lovely lady offering one of her images to a lucky Pregnant Chicken reader. Of course, me being the idiot I am, I had the page set to show just my posts and not anyone else's so I missed it. Stupid, I know.
Anyway once I fixed the problem and came across this generous offer I immediately checked it out. Now, I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first. I'm not a big fan of "baby in a teacup" stuff and I was a little scared that it may fall into this camp. Well, lemme tell ya, it didn't.
Her name is Kelly and her site is called Garden Babies. What she does is take a shot of a baby then digitally incorporates them into a garden/fairy scene and it's frickin' trippy magical! They're all soft and pretty and depict the yummy side of babies and not the shit-up-the-back side of babies and that's the side we want to remember, right?
Here's how the process works:
- send Kelly a high res jpg
- choose your background
- Kelly spins her magic (maybe drops a little acid, I dunno) and send you proof within 3-4 working days
- you approve proof then pay through Paypal
- Kelly sends you your little package of shots to download and print
Easy peasy I say.
Plus, she only charges $40 US and that's for one shot on two different backgrounds. As someone who uses Photoshop on a regular basis, I find her price ridiculously low but she's a country girl from Australia trapped in Germany while husband follows his musical dreams so I'm not sure if she's thinking straight. Do you see me getting attached to Kelly? I do. I'm already weaving a tale of love and passion and the theme song is Stand By Your Man but it's in German. But I digress.
She just started this business (she's still working on her website) and I think it's great. The best part is Kelly has generously offered to do a Garden Babies composition/image (I'm going to call it a Fairy Fiddle) to a lucky Pregnant Chicken reader. All you have to do is leave a comment here letting me know you'd like to be entered along with your email address then check out Kelly's facebook page and see the kick-ass stuff she does. Kelly was also kind enough to keep the prize valid for 6 months so if you're still pregnant with your Garden Baby then you'll still have time to get your shot.
Do you think she'd do one of me naked in the forest with pixies on my bum dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight?! I guess that wouldn't be that magical. Okay, nevermind.
